Artist Dovile Sakalauskaite will lead wool felting workshops inspired by symbolic flower motifs, including the Lithuanian rūta, alongside other felting and floral traditions & meanings from across Central and Eastern Europe.
The sessions introduce felting as a longstanding Lithuanian craft, exploring its role in everyday life, clothing, and decorative arts.
Participants will experiment with wool to create their own felted flowers, bringing personal interpretation to these traditional motifs.
Exhibition
The programme will culminate in a public exhibition on 3rd and 4th July in Boston, bringing together the works created throughout the workshop series. The exhibition will showcase a range of participant-led creations, highlighting the diversity of materials, techniques, and cultural traditions explored.
