Meet the Sheep
Come and meet a beautifully crafted Lincolnshire Longwool sheep and its playful lamb as they roam the town in this charming, interactive experience.
Family-Friendly Fun for All Ages
Created by talented puppet artist Robbie Bellekom, these delightful woolly characters will be out and about for a special meet-and-greet. Expect gentle humour, movement, and plenty of photo-worthy moments—perfect for a family-friendly day out in Boston. The puppets will be particularly entertaining for those in our queue to go in the Luminarium: Arborialis.
A Unique Outdoor Arts Experience
Originally designed for the Hanse Day Parade, these characters are now back for an up-close encounter. Watch them frolic through the streets and bring smiles to visitors of all ages.
The largest sheep in the UK, the Lincolnshire Longwool is a rare breed that can be traced back hundreds of years and has been chosen for the puppet creation as a celebration of Boston’s wool trade and historic trading links.
Event Details
Join the sheep and their creator throughout Saturday 4 July, between 11am and 4pm, as they wander and interact with the public.

This event is part of our We Are Boston programme of immersive arts experiences across the town marking Boston’s historic connections to the USA on the 250th anniversary weekend of American Independence and launching community consultations on cultural plans for 2030 – the 400th anniversary of the foundation of Boston in America by people from Boston, Lincolnshire.
