Cabinet of Curiosities at Spalding Pumpkin Festival

Be among the first to explore Transported's brand-new Cabinet of Curiosities at this year's Spalding Pumpkin Festival.

Created by artist Steven Hatton in collaboration with Transported, this extraordinary travelling cabinet is packed with hidden treasures, curious objects, heritage-inspired artworks and hands-on activities celebrating the rich history of South Holland and the collections of the Spalding Gentlemen's Society Museum.

Open the cabinet's drawers to uncover fascinating artefacts and themed collections, discover artwork inspired by Transported's ARTeFACT Trail, and try your hand at brass rubbing using the decorative plaques built into the cabinet. Visitors can also share stories about their own treasured objects and what they would choose to preserve for future generations.
You can also have a go at making your own zoetrope - a pre-film method to create animations and moving illustrated pictures by using a sequence of drawings.

Throughout the day, Steven Hatton will be on hand to talk about the creation of the Cabinet and the inspiration behind its curious design. Members of the Spalding Gentlemen's Society team will also be joining us, giving visitors the opportunity to learn more about the museum's remarkable collection, ask questions, and find out about exciting future plans while the museum building undergoes renovation.

You can find the Cabinet of Curiosities under the Transported gazebo in the Market Place, where curiosity, creativity and local heritage come together in a unique interactive experience for all ages.
